Aktaş Erdoğan - Ararat Quartet
Erdoğan is a multi-instrumentalist/composer has Turkish, Armenian and Kurdish roots. He has studied classical and jazz guitar at the Hague Conservatory. Beside his guitar playing he plays traditional instruments such as ney, duduk and oud.
Erdoğan studied at Royal Conservatory of The Hague. During his studies he won the Best Dutch Guitarist Prize at Twents Gitaar Festival. He was also the winners at Istanbul Classical Guitar Festival/Competition. His first classical music album “Dreamers of Dream” released in 2015.
He started a campaign for his life sentenced journalist mother who was a prisoner in Turkey. He became the voice of his mother outside and created awareness in the media. Campaign was successfully ended with his mother’s freedom.
His celebration turned into a deep musical journey. Erdoğan performed and toured with different projects and artists such as Holon Women’s Festival (Israel), Melbourne Recital Center (Australia), Tanjazz Festival (Morroco), Calcutta Jazz Festival, Hyderabad Jazz Festival (India).
In his brand new project Ararat Quartet he brings the mystic sounds of Anatolia and Middle-East to his audience. Journey of union through the ancient and authentic vibrations of folks.
